Virtual Learning Resources
Welcome to the Virtual Learning Resources page of Bumblebees Creche Wexford. Here, we provide links to external sources that offer valuable information on child development, educational activities, and relevant resources for parents. Our goal is to support parents in their journey of nurturing and educating their children.
Aistear and Siolta

Aistear is the early childhood curriculum framework for all children from birth to 6 years in Ireland. The framework uses four interconnected themes to describe children's learning and development: Well-being; Identity and Belonging; Communicating; and Exploring and Thinking. It celebrates early childhood as a time of being, and of enjoying and learning from experiences as they unfold. This early learning also lays important foundations for later learning. (NCCA, 2009)
The National Quality Framework, known as Síolta, is a set of national quality standards for early childhood education. Síolta is a quality assurance programme that enhances the quality of early childhood experiences for children aged from birth to six years. (CECDE, 20026)
Access and Inclusion Model
The Access and Inclusion Model (AIM) ensures all children, regardless of disability can fully take part in a mainstream Early Learning and Care setting. AIM helps these settings create an inclusive environment and provides supports to children to meaningfully participate in ECCE. AIM provides universal and targeted supports, which focus on the needs of the individual child. AIM is a Department of Children, Equality, Disability, Integration and Youth (DCEDIY) initiative, administered by Pobal and Better Start.(Better Start, 2024)

Mandated persons obligations under Tusla
Mandated persons are people who have contact with children and/or families who, by virtue of their qualifications, training and experience, are in a key position to help protect children from harm (Tusla 2024)
A Mandated Person is required to report to Tusla without delay, any knowledge, belief or reasonable suspicion that a child has been harmed, is being harmed, or is at risk of being harmed (Tusla, 2024) Mandated persons have two main legal obligations under the
Children First Act 2015:
➪ To report harm of children above a defined threshold
to Tusla.
➪ To help Tusla, if requested, in assessing a concern
which has been the subject of a mandated report.
If the staff and management of Bumblebees Creche believe a child is at risk of harm or an incident of harm has been disclosed to us by a child, we as mandated persons must make a report to Tusla.
